Fatal road traffic collision in Wexford 14th December 2014

Gardaí in Wexford are investigating a fatal traffic collision which occurred near Murrintown, Co. Wexford on the 14th December 2014.

At approximately 4.45pm a 94-year-old man was injured when the car he was a passenger in was involved in a three car collision on a minor road at Gurteenminogue Lower, Murrintown. He was taken to Wexford General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car, an 80-year-old woman, and the two occupants of a second car, a 27 year old woman and a girl aged 4, were also taken to hospital. There injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The occupants of the third car were uninjured.
 

The road is currently closed to traffic  to facilitate Garda forensic collision investigators and the Coroner has been notified.
