Gardai in the South Eastern region have arrested 6 men as part of an ongoing operation set up to target, disrupt and dismantle the illegal manufacturing and trafficking of medicines and other controlled drugs.
The arrests are as a result of a number of searches over the last 12 months in which facilities used to manufacture medicines were discovered at locations in Tipperary, Limerick, Kilkenny and Galway/Roscommon.
A number of searches were also conducted in Kilkenny, Carlow, Glenmore, Bennettsbridge, Lismore and Waterford this morning 16th December 2014 involving Gardaí from the Kilkenny/ Carlow, Tipperary, Waterford and Roscommon Divisions, Regional Support Units and the Garda Dog Unit.
6 men (ranging in ages mid 20's to mid 40's) were arrested and are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at various Garda Stations in the South Eastern Region.
