Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Swords, Co. Dublin, on the 16th August 2014.
At approximately 0310hrs a male pedestrian (aged in his late 40s) was seriously injured he was struck by a car on North St. Swords. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle involved in the incident failed to remain at the scene. The deceased was removed to Connolly Hospital for a post mortem examination.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene and local traffic diversions are in place.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for information and in particular anyone who was in the in the vicinity of North St. Swords between 0300hrs and 0315hrs this morning (16/8/2014) to contact them.
