Gardaí have arrested three men and a woman and seized a quantity of drugs in an operation in the South Circular Road/Rialto area of Dublin, yesterday afternoon Saturday 23rd August, 2014.
As part of a planned operation gardaí from Kevin Street Drug Unit, and gardai from Kilmainham station, searched two flats. During the course of the searches they discovered a 9mm handgun along with ammunition and a sawn off shotgun and ammunition. A quantity of cannabis and heroin was also seized. The drugs, subject to analysis may have a street value of €15,000.
The three men, aged in the mid 30s, and woman 29 years, were arrested at the scenes and are all currently detained. Two of the men are detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Kevin Street Garda Station. The third man and woman are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939/98 and are at Kilmainham and Irishtown Garda Stations.
