Gardaí investigating unofficial motoring events held in public and at night in the Co. Clare area have arrested eight people.
As part of an operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of diamorphine, (heroin), in the Portarlington area, members of the District Detective Unit assisted by local Gardaí, the Regional Support Unit and the Garda Dog Unit seized heroin (€8,000) & cannabis herb (€5,000), pending analysis, following the planned search of a premises in Kilnacourt Woods, Portarlington, Co. Laois this morning, Wednesday 2nd April 2014 at approximately 9.30am.
A female, 29 years, was arrested at scene and is currently detained at Tullamore Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
