Witness Appeal - Fatal road traffic collision at Mullingar, Westmeath on the 19/9/13

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the Castlepollard Road, in Mullingar, Co.Westmeath at about 3.15 pm on the 19th September 2013.

A pedestrian in his 70's was fatally injured when he was struck by a van on the road outside the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar.
 

The road at the scene is closed to facilitate an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
 

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area of the hospital this afternoon between 3.00pm and 3.30pm to contact them at Mullingar Garda Station on 044 9384000.
