A male is expected to appear before a sitting of the District Court tomorrow morning (1/10/2013) charged in connection with this incident.
Arrangements surrounding a court venue will be confirmed tomorrow morning.

Three males are in custody in Athlone Garda station as part of an investigation into an alleged serious sexual assault on two female children at approximately 16.00hrs on 28th September in the Athlone area.
Three males were arrested for public order offences in an area of Athlone on the 28th September and brought to Athlone Garda station. They were subsequently brought to a special sitting of Athlone District Court at 10am on the 29th of September where they were remanded on Public Order charges. Following their appearance in court, the three males were arrested as part of the investigation into the alleged sexual assault and brought to Athlone Garda station.
They remain in Athlone Garda station, detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. One of the males is 30, two are in their mid 40s.
Investigations are continuing.
