Gardaí in Ballincollig Garda Station stopped a vehicle and searched a male (48yrs) on the 18th September 2013 in Ballincollig, Co Cork.
During the course of the search Gardaí discovered 5 kilos of cannabis resin with a street value of €30,000 (subject to analysis).
The male was arrested and taken to Gurranabraher Garda Station where he was detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
During a follow up search of a house at Greenfields, Ballincollig a further €2,500 worth of cannabis resin (subject to analysis) and a sum of cash were also seized.
This male is due to appear before Cork District Court, this afternoon, Thursday 19th September 2013, at 3.30pm, having been charged with offences in relation to this incident.
