Gardaí at Bantry, County Cork, are investigating a single vehicle, fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Adrigole Bridge, County Cork, on the R572, Bantry to Castletownbere road, on 7th September 2013 between 2.00 and 3.00am.
The sole occupant of this vehicle, a male, 40 years, was fatally injured when the vehicle he was driving collided with a wall.
The deceased was removed to Castletownbere and a post mortem is due to take place on Monday, 9th September, 2013 at Cork University Hospital.
The R572 is currently closed at Adrigole Bridge, County Cork, to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or any person who may have travelled on the R572 at Adrigole Bridge, County Cork, between 2.00am and 12.00pm on Saturday 7th September 2013 to contact Bantry Garda Station on 027-20860, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
