As part of ongoing investigations into the activities of Dissident Republicans in Dublin and Limerick members of An Garda Siochana attached to the Special Detective Unit and the Crime and Security section arrested two males ( 1x30’s and 1x 60’s) at James Street, Dublin yesterday afternoon.
Two handguns were also recovered at the scene (subject to technical examination).
In a follow up search yesterday afternoon in the Limerick area a quantity of ammunition was also recovered. The two males are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Clondalkin Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
