Gardai in Tallaght have arrested one man following a cash in transit robbery that occured on the Old Bawn Road, Tallaght at approximatley 1p.m. yesterday afternoon Monday 9th September 2013.
Three males, one armed with a shotgun, and another armed with a weapon confronted a security worker as he was making a cash collection. A third man remained in the car and they escaped with a sum of money in a silver avensis which went in the direction of Allenton Estate. The car was later recovered in Allenton. There were no injuries or shots discharged.
In a follow up operation last night Gardai searched a house and arrested one man aged in his early 20s. He is currently detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
