Gardaí at Pearse Street investigating a serious assault which occurred at the front of the Central Bank on Dame Street at about 5.40pm on Monday, the 9th September 2013 have arrested two males.
The two males in their 20’s were arrested in the Dublin area this afternoon and are currently detained at Pearse Street and Kevin Street Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí at Pearse Street are investigating a serious assault which occurred at the front of the Central Bank on Dame St at about 5.40pm on Monday, the 9th September 2013.
A man in his late 20's was standing under the Tree of Life monument in front of the Central Bank facing onto Dame Street when he was attacked by four men. He received serious stab wounds to his stomach and cheek. The man was taken to St James' Hospital where his condition is described as critical.
The attackers were part of a larger group who had walked from Crown Alley, around the back of the Central Bank, onto Fownes Street. The suspects then ran back down Crown Alley into Temple Bar and two running across the Halfpenny Bridge. The suspects are described as males, late teens - early 20's; average built, with black or dark tops with hoods up, 2 with grey bottoms and 2 with dark bottoms and all wearing runners.
Gardaí would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this attack, anyone who may have information about it or anyone who saw the offenders either before of after this attack and can give directions of travel for the offenders after they flee the scene.
