Gardaí at Rathcoole are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N7, Southbound, at junction 3, Citywest, at approximately 4.45pm, this evening, 24th October 2013.
A male pedestrian, 64 years, was fatally injured when he was struck by a car while attempting to cross the road. The female driver of the vehicle (sole occupant) was uninjured.
The deceased was removed to the mortuary at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital, Tallaght, where a full post mortem is to be arranged.
The N7 Southbound carriageway was closed at junction 2, Kingswood, for a period of time, to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.
