Gardai in Loughrea are investigating a single vehicle serious road traffic collision that occured on the N66 Loughrea to Gort Road, approximately 3km outside the town, this morning Sunday 17th November, 2013 at 4:30am.
A male aged 20 years was seriously injured when the car he was a passenger in collided with a ditch. He was taken to University College Hospital Galway where his condition is believed to be serious. Both driver and second passenger were uninjured.
The road is closed to traffic and diversions are in place. Forensic collision investigators have been notified to attend the scene.
