As part of the ongoing investigation (Operation Serpentine) into the cultivation, distribution, sale and supply of controlled substances in the South East Region,
Gardai based in Wexford assisted by the Regional Support Unit, Gardai from Carlow / Kilkenny, Waterford and Tipperary Divisions carried out a number of searches in Co Wexford this morning, the 11th November 2013. The were also assisted by Customs and Excise officials based in Waterford.
The house's searched are outlined below:
- A house at Dunmaine, Co Wexford a male and female arrested and 1oz of Cocaine(subject to analysis) seized.
- A house at Ballywilliam, New Ross a male was arrested, a number of items relating to drug cultivation seized.
- A house at Longraigue, Foulksmills, Co Wexford two males 1oz of Cannabis resin (subject to analysis) and a number of items relating to drug cultivation seized.
- A premises at Killesk, Campile, Co Wexford a grow house was discovered with €18,000 of harvested cannabis herb(subject to analysis)
- A house at Grange Rd, New Ross a male was arrested and 1kg of cannabis herb(subject to analysis) approx value €20,000 and 3.5kilos of speed (subject to analysis) approx value €50,000.
- A house at Ramsgrange, Co Wexford where a grow house was discovered and €40,000 of harvested cannabis herb(subject to analysis).
In total six males and one female were arrested they range in ages from mid 20's to early 60's. They are being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice( Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended. They are being held a various Garda stations in the South East (Tramore,New Ross,Thomastown)
This operation is part of Operation Nitrogen establised to combat the cultivation, supply, sale and distribution of controlled substances nationally.
