Gardai at Birr have arrested a man, 20 years, following the discovery of a Cannabis grow house at a premises on Bridge St, Birr, Co Offaly, today the 11th November 2013.
As part of the planned search, Gardai discovered 260 cannabis plants, (subject to analysis), with a potential street value of €208,000.
The discovery was made following an intelligence lead operation involving Gardaí from the Birr District, supported by Garda members from District and Regional units.
The man was arrested at the scene at approximately 1pm and is currently detained at Birr Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 and investigations are ongoing.
