Gardai in Coolock investigating the death of a male whose body was discovered at Northern Cross, Malahide Road have named the deceased as 23 year old Dean Fitzpatrick.
A male in his early 40’s has been arrested in connection with the death this afternoon and is currently detained at Coolock Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses that may have been at Northern Cross, Malahide Road around the times of the incident, 11.20pm, and may have witnessed the altercation or be able to assist with the investigation to contact Coolock Garda Station on 01-6664200, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardaí at Coolock are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 23 year old man whose body was discovered at Northern Cross, Malahide Road, Dublin 17 at approximately 11.20pm last night (25/5/13)
Gardaí were called to the scene of an incident at the above location where the man is believed to have received a number of stab wounds. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.
The scene has been sealed off pending a full technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. The office of the State Pathologists office has been notified
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may witnesses this incident or who may have information to contact them at Coolock Garda Station 01-666 4200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
Investigations are continuing.
