Gardaí investigating a serious assault on a male which occurred at Edward Street, Limerick on the 21st May 2013 have arrested a third person.
A juvenile male was arrested this evening 22nd May and he is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Roxboro Road Garda station.
This brings to three the number of people in Garda custody in relation to this investigation. The injured man remains in a serious condition at University College Hospital Cork.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and in particular to anybody in the vicinity of Edward St between 3 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. on 21st May, to contact them. They are also appealing for information on any sightings of a light green coloured saloon car with a partial registration number 10 KY in the area of Edward Street around the time of the incident to contact the incident room at Roxboro Road Garda Station.
