Gardai in Ballybofey are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Ballybofey to Donegal Road near Barnesmore Gap at approximately 8.30am this morning.
A male in his 50’s was fatally injured when the car he was driving was in collision with a bus. He was the sole occupant of the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene. There was one person taken to Letterkenny General hospital from the bus with what are described as minor injuries.
This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
