Gardai in Galway are investigating a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred on the Headford to Galway Road on the 5th March 2013.
The collision occurred before 2.45am on the 5th March between Balrobuck Beg and Balrobuck More, just off the Headford to Galway City Road (approx 6 miles outside Galway City).
The male 31yrs (sole occupant) was pronounced dead at scene and has been removed to University Hospital Galway. This minor road has been closed for a Forensic collision Examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardai in Galway (Mill St) are appealing for witnesses and are trying to establish the time of the collision. They are particularly keen to speak anyone who may have travelled on the Balrobuck Beg to Balrobuck More Rd before 2.45am on the 5th to contact them in Mill St on 091 538000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
