Gardai at Belmullet are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision at Glencastle, Co. Mayo on the 6th March 2013.
At approximately 6.55a.m. a 39-year-old female pedestrian was fatally injured when she was struck by a van while walking on a minor road at Bunnahowen, Glencastle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased was removed to Mayo General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Forensic collision investigators are currently examining the scene, the road is closed to traffic and diversions are in place.
