Gardai in Castleblayney are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on Main Street, Castleblayney at approximately 12.50pm this afternoon, 20th March 2013.
A female pedestrian in her 50’s was fatally injured when she was struck by a lorry. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
The Main Street is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.
