As part of an on-going investigation into the cultivation and sale and supply of cannabis in the Thurles, Co Tipperary area, Gardaí from the Drugs Unit attached to Thurles searched a premises at Moyne, Thurles yesterday afternoon (21/3/13).
They seized cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €160,000 (subject to analysis)
A 52 year old man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Templemore Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 Drug Trafficking Act 1996 in relation to this investigation. In a follow-up operation a 32 year old man was arrested and is detained in Thurles Garda Station also under Section 2 Drug Trafficking Act 1996.
Investigations are continuing.
