Gardai have arrested three people this morning 20th June 2013 as part of ‘Operation Nascar’.
The arrests were made during an operation in Co. Cork involving members of the Organised Crime Unit and Fraud Investigation Unit attached to Anglesea Street Garda Station along with local detectives.
During this morning’s operation 3 males (ranging in age from 20's to 40's) were arrested. They are currently detained under Section 4 and Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, at Garda Stations in Co Cork.
This is an ongoing investigation and is centred around fraudulent motor insurance claims.
This brings to 20 the number of persons arrested as part of this ongoing investigation.
