Gardai in Westport are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occured today, the 7th June 2013 at Sheeaune, Westport, Co Mayo at approxiamately 9.10 am.
The collision on the main Westport to Castlebar Road (N5) involved a car and a truck.
The female passenger aged 24yrs was pronounced dead at the scene and the male driver(33yrs) of the car was taken to Mayo General Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The road has been closed for a Forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
