Drug seizure in Co. Wexford on the 28/6/13 and court appearance

On the 28th of June at approximately 4.30 pm gardai stopped a van on the N25 at Barntown, Co. Wexford. On searching the van a large quantity of Xanax tablets containing Alprazolam (pending analysis) with an estimated street value of up to €500,000 were discovered.

A male in his 50’s and a male in his 20’s were arrested at the scene and detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Wexford Garda Station.

The two males are scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Gorey District Court this evening at 8pm charged in connection with this seizure.
