Gardaí investigating the discovery of a body at a derelict house in Phibsboro on 24th July 2013 are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the deceased.
The body was discovered at 44 Royal Canal Bank Way, Dublin 7, shortly after mid-day on 24th by a member of the public, who immediately notified Gardaí.
The badly decomposed body was removed from the scene and a post mortem examination has established that the person died from natural caused.
Gardaí are checking through missing person’s reports and examining dental records in an effort to establish the identity of the deceased. DNA testing will also be used.
Gardaí believe that body is that of a male who is described as of thin build, between 5ft and 5ft 6 inches, wearing Navy boots (size 6), Navy or Black combat style pants and green stripped jumper. The age of the deceased is not known. Gardaí believe that the body may have been there since 2009. He was also wearing a Pulsar watch and a photograph of this watch is available via email from the Garda Press Office.
