Gardaí at Ennis are investigating all the circumstances surrounding an incident which occurred at a house at Sandfield Mews, Ennis, Co Clare at approximately 1am this morning 23rd July 2013.
A 31 year old male received serious stab wounds and was taken by Ambulance to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where he died on route.
Three men have been arrested in connection with this incident are are currently detained at Ennis and Shannon Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 4 Criminal Justice Act – 1984.
A short time later an injured man (39yrs) was found near the scene of the initial incident suffering from injuries which are not thought to be life threatening. He has been taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital. It is believed at this stage that this man was involved in the incident earlier at Sandfield Mews.

The scene has been preserved for a Garda technical examination. The services of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau have been requested.
