Gardai in Drumshambo are investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Rantogue, Aughacashel, Co. Leitrim on the 23rd July 2013.
The collision on the Drumshambo to Aughacashel Road involving a pedestrian and a teleporter occurred at approximately 1.05pm. The male (40yrs) pedestrian was seriously injured and was taken by helicopter to Sligo General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the teleporter was uninjured. The collision occurred while the transporter was loading / unloading bales onto a trailer.
The road is closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
