Gardaí at Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan are investigating a two car fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N2 at Tullyvaragh Lower, Carrickmacross at 5pm yesterday (Friday 25th January 2013) Main Carrickmacross to Castleblaney Road
A 34 year old female driver of one of the cars was fatally injured, three passengers an 8 year old boy/ 5 year old girl and a 62 year old female were injured (injuries not serious) The driver of the other car (only occupant) was also injured. All injured persons were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
The road was closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic collision examination but has since reopened.
