The two males arrested in relation to a drug seizure in the Kildare area yesterday, the 17th January 2013, have been charged and are due to appear at Kilcock District Court at 3pm today.

As part of an ongoing investigation members from the Garda National Drugs Unit carried out a search and arrest operation this afternoon (17/1/2013) in Naas, Co Kildare.
During the operation two vehicles were searched resulting in the seizure of approximately 35kgs of heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value of between €3.5million and €5.5 million (pending analysis). Two males aged in their 30's were arrested and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Naas Garda station.
In follow up searches this evening in the Palmerstown and Celbridge areas Gardai seized cocaine, cannabis herb and heroin with an estimated street value in excess of €1.25 million (pending analysis).
