Gardai in Castlebar are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a fatal shooting incident which occurred at a Service Station on the Moneen Road, Castlebar, Co Mayo at 3.30pm on the afternoon of Wednesday, 18th December, 2013.
A 26 year old man was shot a number of times. He was removed to Mayo General Hospital and pronounced dead at 8 p.m. on the evening of 18th December, 2013. The vehicle sought in relation to this murder is described as a BMW 330 touring car. It has a 3.3 litre diesel engine and it is a graphite grey in colour.
Anyone who may have witnessed, or can assist the gardai in relation to this murder or who may have any sightings of this vehicle are asked to contact Castlebar Garda Station on 094-9038200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

Update : Fatal Shooting - Castlebar Co Mayo 18th December 2013
The man shot in an incident on the Moneen Road, Castlebar, Co Mayo this afternoon was pronounced dead at Mayo General Hospital at 8pm this evening (18/12/13)
A full Post Mortem examination will be carried out at Mayo General Hospital tomorrow morning (19/12/13) by the Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Michael Curtis.

Gardaí at Castlebar are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at a Service Station on the Moneen Road ,Castlebar, Co Mayo at approximately 3.30pm this afternoon (18/12/13).
A 26 year old man was shot a number of times. He was taken to Mayo General Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. The scene of the shooting is preserved pending a full Garda technical examination. A dark coloured estate car was seen leaving the area at the time of the shooting. There have been no arrests at this stage.
