Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Loughrea, Co. Galway, on the 23rd December 2013.
At approximately 12.45 pm a male aged in 40s was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided with a wall on the R446 at Moyleen near Loughrea. He was taken by Ambulance to Portiuncula Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A 9-year-old boy travelling in the car at the time was also taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Forensic collision investigators have carried out an examination of the scene and the road has since reopened to traffic.
