Gardaí at Youghal, County Cork, are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision, which occurred at Muckridge, Youghal, this morning, Saturday 21st December 2013 at approximately 7.15am.
One male, 28 years, sole occupant of vehicle, was fatally injured when the vehicle he was driving collided with a bridge.
The male, was airlifted from the scene by Coast Guard helicopter to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A post mortem is due to take place tomorrow.
The road was closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
