Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the Bandon to Kilbrittain Road, close to Bandon Co Cork on Monday 2nd December 2013 shortly after 6pm.
A man in his 80s, the driver and only occupant of a car, was fatally injured in a collision with a second car at a crossroads. The driver and three occupants of the second car were uninjured.
The body of the deceased has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow. The road at the scene is closed pending a forensic collision investigation and diversions are in place.
