Gardaí have arrested two men and seized a quantity of drugs following an operation on Monday, the 30th December 2013.
At 5.00pm Gardaí stopped a car on Rathgar Road. Two occupants, men in their 20s, were searched and a quantity of Cannabis herb was discovered. The vehicle was brought to Terenure Garda Station where a full search took place and a further quantity of Cannabis was discovered in the car. The drugs are believed to have a street value, subject to analysis, of €25,000.
Both men were arrested and were detained at Terenure Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. Gardaí carried out further searched at two properties in the city and further quantities of cannabis, cannabis herb, ecstasy and cocaine, as well as other drug paraphernalia were discovered during the course of the search. The men have since been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public prosecutions.
