As part of ongoing joint operations to counter activities of dissident republicans, Gardaí in conjunction with the Police Service of Northern Ireland undertook an operation in north Louth/south Armagh area on Tuesday, 17th December 2013.
Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit and Crime & Security Branch searched a premises in the Kilcurry, Dundalk area at approximately 1am, 18th December 2013. One man, aged 43 years, was arrested and is currently detained at Drogheda Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended.
Searches in the area are ongoing in conjunction with local Garda units.
