Armed robbery in Killiney, Co. Dublin on the 13/12/13

Gardai have arrested a male and recovered a firearm following an incident at in Killiney Co. Dublin on the 13th of December 2013.

Shortly after midday a lone male armed with a handgun entered a building society at Killiney Shopping Centre.  He threatened staff before leaving the scene on foot with a sum of cash.

A male aged in his 30's was arrested near the scene by a member of the Garda Traffic Corps. A firearm and a sum of cash were recovered.  No shots were fired during the incident.

The male is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station.
