Gardaí at Carrickmacross are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Mount Lodge Co Monaghan at approximately 5pm this afternoon (9/8/13).
A car and a truck where in collision at Mount Lodge Demesne Co Monaghan which is on the main Rockcorry to Shercock Road. The elderly male driver of the car (only occupant) was fatally injured. His body has been removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where a full Post Mortem examination will take.The male driver and male passenger of the truck were uninjured.
The road is closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and is not expected to reopen until tomorrow morning.
