As a result of a joint investigation involving the Garda National Drugs Unit, the Garda Organised Crime Unit along with Gardaí attached to the Carlow District and Customs Drug Enforcement Officers, a search was carried out on a vehicle in the Carlow area this afternoon (7/8/13).
During the course of the search cannabis herb and cannabis resin with an estimated street value of approximately €1.4 million (subject to analysis) was recovered. A man in his 40’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are continuing.
