Firearm recovered and arrest in Tallaght, Dublin on the 4/4/13

Gardai in Tallaght have seized a firearm and arrested a male during a search operation earlier this evening (4th April 2013).

At approximately 6.30 p.m. Gardai recovered a firearm (sawn-off shot gun) along with a number of cartridges when they searched a car in Jobstown area of Tallaght. Heroin and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €200,000 (pending analysis) was also seized. A male aged in his mid-teens has been arrested.

He is currently detained under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Tallaght Garda Station.
