Gardai in Blanchardstown are investigating the circumstances of a fatal assault.
At 8.53p.m. on 21st September, 2012 gardai received a 999 call that an assault had occured at a house at Allendale Glen, Clonsilla. On arrival at scene gardai discovered a male (early 30's) with stab wounds and he was removed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital. His injuries are not life threatening.
At 9.01 p.m. a female was left at the entrance to the Accident and Emergency Department of James Connolly Memorial Hospital. The vehicle involved was a white ford focus hatchback bearing the partial registration number of 08 D 22. A distinctive feature of this car is that the rear drivers hub cap is missing.
The female was pronounced dead at 10.30p.m. Scenes at Allendale Glen and James Connolloy Memorial Hospital have been preserved for technical examination. The post mortem is taking place now.
Gardai are appealing for any persons who were in the area of Allendale Glen from 8p.m. to 9 p.m. and who may have witnessed the assault. Also we are appealing to witnesses who may have seen the white ford focus at the entrance to the A&E Department where the female was dropped off. Any medical staff, patients or visitors to the hospital at that time may have witnessed this.
