As part of an intelligence led operation Gardaí from the Roscommon Divisional Drug Unit and the local Detective Unit seized cannabis plants with an estimated street value of approximately €300,000 (subject to analysis).
Gardaí searched a shed at Athleague, Co Roscommon at 3.30pm yesterday (18/9/12). During the course of this search an elaborate cannabis growing operation was uncovered. 380 cannabis plants were seized during this operation.
A male in his 30’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Roscommon Garda Station under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are continuing.
