Gardai have seized cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €750,000 and made 6 arrests this afternoon.
As part of a planned operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Western Region Gardai from the Divisional Drug Unit in Galway carried out searched on two houses in the Tuam area and one house in the Oughterard area of Co. Galway.
Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €750,000 (pending analysis) were found. Five males and one female ranging in ages from their 20’s to their 50’s were arrested at the locations and are detained at Galway (four males) and Loughrea (one male and one female) Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
