Animal cruelty investigation in Dublin on the 9/10/12

Up to 50 puppies were recovered and taken into safety by Gardai and Officers of the D.S.P.C.A. following a search of two motor cars in Dublin on the 9th October 2012.

The discovery was made when uniform Gardai searched two motor cars stopped on the Old Malahide Road in the Coolock area of Dublin this afternoon (9/10/2012).


The pups were located in boxes in the rear of both vehicles and included a number of Cocker and Springer Spaniels, Terrier, Beagle, and Labrador breeds along with 25 Jack Russell’s.


Two males aged in their 20's and 30's were arrested at the scene and taken to Coolock Garda Station.


Officers from the D.S.P.C.A. have this evening taken the pups  into quarantine and safety. 


The investigation is ongoing.
