The woman in her 50’s who was seriously injured in a serious road traffic collision on the Foxford to Ballina road on the 20th of November 2012 was pronounced dead in Mayo General Hospital last night.
The road remains closed and local diversions are in place.

Gardai in Swinford are investigating a serious road traffic collision on the Foxford to Ballina road on the 20th November 2012.
The collision between two cars occurred at approx 9.20pm on the Foxford to Ballina Road at a place known as Armstrongs Corner approximately 3 miles outside Foxford. The drivers were the only occupants in each car and the female (50's) driver of one of the cars was seriously injured. The second driver's injuries are described as not life threatening. Both were taken by ambulance to Mayo General hospital for treatment..
The road has being closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination. Diversions are in place.
