Two fatalities at road traffic collision - Rally in Co Cavan 27th May 2012

Gardai in Bailieboro are investigating a collision at a Rally race in Co. Cavan today, the 27th May 2012.

Two persons a male and female have been confirmed dead at the scene, a number of people have been taken to hospital for injuries received (not know number or nature of injuries).
 
Emergency services are at the scene and the road remains closed. The scene is being examined by a forensic collision investigator. 
 
The collision occurred at approx 11.30am 1 mile outside Bailieboro. The collision occurred on a road closed for the rally.
