A male who was seriously injured in a stabbing incident on the 4th May 2012 in Cork has passed away this evening the 7th May 2012.
A post mortem will be held tomorrow the 8th May on the body of the deceased at 9am at Cork University hospital.
The deceased has been named as David Hamilton 31 years.

Gardai investigating a serious assault in Cork on the 4.05.12 arrested two males last night. The two males, one in his early 50’s and the other in his late 30’s, were arrested in the Cork area and are currently detained at Mayfield and Gurranabraher Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

At approximately 230pm this afternoon (4/5/2012) a male, aged in his early 30s, was found on the roadside unconscious at Kerryhall Road, Fairhhill having sustained serious injuries.
He was taken by Ambulance to Cork University Hospital. The scene is preserved for a technical examination.
Investigating Gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the Kerryhill Road area between 2pm and 245 pm today to contact them.
