Gardaí in Fermoy are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Reas Cross on the Castletownroche to Mallow Road on the N72.
The collision happened at approximately 10.10am this morning (11/5/12) involving a car and a truck. The female driver of the car (age unknown at this stage) was fatally injured.
A female passenger in the car (9 years) was uninjured. The male driver of the truck (only occupant) was also uninjured.
The road is currently closed pending an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place. The N73 which is an alternative route is also closed due to roadworks.
