Gardai are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at a financial institution in Kingscourt this evening (11/5/2012).
Shortly before 5pm a number of armed men entered a bank on Main St. Kingscourt and held up staff before making off with a substantial sum of cash.
The men initially made off in a waiting car which was set alight a short distance away and escaped in a second car in the direction of Bailieboro.
There was no shots fired during the incident and no reported injures. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity today, or in recent days, in the vicinity of Main Street. Kingscourt to contact them.
